• Fine Wine Romances Presents…

Two new romances by…me! Here are the covers for the first two novels in the new Women of Willow Bay series. Both are releasing on September 26, which also happens to be my 60th birthday. I figure, what better way to celebrate turning a fabulous 60 than by putting out two new books. Here’s the first one--Once More From the Top. What do you do when the one who got away comes back?         And here’s the second one–Sex and the Widow Miles. His life ended. Hers didn’t.   ** My covers were created by the incredible team at StoryWonk. They nailed it, didn’t they? Couldn’t be…

  • Weekend Writing Warriors 8-Sentence Sunday

Here we are again. Ready for another 8 from SEX AND THE WIDOW MILES? Last week, Will and Jules were sharing a piece of chocolate lava cake and things got a little…intimate… Picking up from last week: When he ran his finger over my mouth, heat flushed my cheeks. I blinked and sucked in a quick breath, “Will, I—” “Shhh,” He cupped my face and stroked my cheek with his thumb, tunneling his fingers under my hair. Tugging me closer, he leaned in and lightly touched his lips to mine. When I didn’t pull away, he increased the pressure, letting his tongue trace the seam between my lips. I put…

  • Weekend Writing Warriors 8-Sentence Sunday

I’m back, Fellow Warriors, after a glorious week’s vacation at the lake. This snippet is from my upcoming novel Sex and the Widow Miles--one of the first two books in the Women of Willow Bay series, releasing on September 26. We’re back with Julie and Will again. They’ve finished dinner at her apartment and are sharing a chocolate molten lava cake for dessert. Chocolate, whipped cream, and Will make for a hot situation for Jules, but she’s managing to bluster her way through it. They’ve been joking together about who is the most devoted chocolate fan and she finds another opportunity to remind Will of the difference in their ages,…

  • Procrastination, Anyone?

I’ve become a world-class procrastinator—I can do something else better than anyone anywhere. I’ve passed amateur status and have just recently gotten my professional standing. Don’t even try to take me on this one, I’ll beat the socks off you every time. For instance, today, I procrastinated beautifully about doing the rest of the weeding and cutting back the flowers. I found something more important to do (read “work on my novel” here) until it was time to start supper. The to-do list was really pretty short today—yard work, cleaning the two and half bathrooms in my house, doing the last load of laundry, and ironing. Did any of those…

  • Weekend Writing Warriors 8-Sentence Sunday

It’s that time again! Time for another installment of 8-Sentence Sunday. This week, I’m continuing with the scene from Sex and the Widow Miles. Julie is finding her way in Chicago, making friends, volunteering at a battered women’s shelter, and also spending time with the handsome guy from across the hall, Will Brody. But she is still devoted her dead husband, which is creating quite a stumbling block for Will, who’s falling in love with her.  In this scene, they’re sharing supper and Julie’s amazed to find herself attracted to Will when she believed she’d belong to Charlie forever. Charlie was with me. I felt him near all the time.…

  • Grandboy!

Grandboy, Son and DIL visited a week ago and spent five days at the lake with us. They all loved the lake—it was Grandboy’s first foray into lake life, DIL’s first time at a lake since she became an adult, and for Son, it was a visit back to his own childhood. He got to swim and fish and boat and generally re-live his days at this lake when he was a kid. It was glorious having them there, in spite of poor DIL popping her knee out of place. Son did the brave thing and popped it back in for her, but she had to be in a knee…
